About

Steeped in Tradition

The Sydney Hunt Club holds a proud place in Australia’s equestrian history. Riding to hounds began here in 1811, making it the nation’s oldest organised equestrian activity after racing. What started from Rushcutters Bay toward “the wilds of Bondi” has grown into a lasting tradition of camaraderie, land stewardship, and responsible hunting.

Over two centuries, the Club has represented Australia’s hunting heritage at national parades, Royal Easter Shows, and community events — continuing a legacy built on respect for the land and the hounds.
